All discourses at this camp will be in English only. For Hindi sign up for the previous camp (Oct 24 - 28)
No more spots. Full.
In February I conducted a meditation retreat in a beautiful venue by the Ganges, in Rishikesh. The spots got filled quickly and some other regular readers of my blog who wanted to join the retreat, couldn't do so because of its price.
I've been thinking of some way to reach out those who got left out. On that note, I'm pleased to announce a meditation camp at the ashram. We've priced it as low as possible to cover the cost of food, bedding and utilities etc. The content will be almost similar to the one in February. My priority is to give registration to new people. All discourses in this camp will strictly be in English. If you want Hindi, please sign up for the Oct 24 - Oct 28 camp.
Before you even think of signing up for this camp, please please note that while the content of this camp will be similar to the one in February, the overall experience won't be the same. We have extremely limited accommodation at the ashram. Only 6 guestrooms and a big hall. All guest rooms have attached washrooms and in addition, we have five common washrooms. You'll be sharing your accommodation with many other devotees. We'll provide bedding, and good satvik food. We've solar water heaters in the ashram but they are often not enough.
Your donation will just cover our costs so, please don't expect any comforts. There are no housekeeping or laundry services, much less any room service. We often even run out of water (we have our own water source now, thanks to a devotee who got it done for us. But, from this source we can only get about 6,000 litres in one day). Only attend this camp if you wish to hear my discourses, learn directly from me even at the cost of basic comforts. If you wish to have a proper retreat experience where practical issues won't be a challenge or hear my discourses in English then sign up for one of the retreats I may announce in the future. Still interested to learn meditation? Read on.
Average human being goes through 60,000 thoughts in a span of 24 hours. Angry mind, agitated mind, disturbed mind, restless mind, talkative mind, lazy mind, or an untamed mind robs your inner peace and potential. In the various states of mind live a myriad of thoughts. And, beyond the flooding streams of thoughts awaits an ocean of bliss and infinite joy. Meditation is the river that merges effortlessly in that ocean. It's an art anyone can master, a skill anyone can learn, a craft anyone can practice.
Most seekers complain that their mind wanders off when they try to meditate. The harder they focus, the more difficult it gets. Many have been meditating for years but they have not experienced any real benefits, they tell me. A lot many state that they don't know where and how to start on the path of meditation.
The meditation I practice is chiefly based on Mahamudra, Patanjali yoga sutras and my own experience of nearly 23 years. In this camp, I'll expose you to the basics and the foundation of meditation for superior concentration and insight. We'll primarily focus on the following:
Four virtues a meditator must develop.
Vase breathing to channelize your energies.
The art of meditation.
The detailed schedule will be provided to the attendees beforehand.
This camp will focus exclusively on the non-tantric path of meditation.
Total cost is Rs. 4500. (Four nights/five days, all meals and bedding included.)
90 0 spots
