FAQ cover
1. Where is the Ashram

The Ashram is located in Himachal Pradesh, India. You can find detailed directions here.

2. Are you open throughout the year?

The Ashram is open during both Events and Non-Events. Om Swami ji is not at the Ashram all the time -he meets devotees only on the dates specified under Events. For Non-Events, please check the section on “Short-term Stay at the Ashram on Non-Events.

3. How do I book my visit?

Please check the dates when the Ashram is open. Select your preferred time and follow the registration process under Events or Short-term Stay at the Ashram on Non-Events.

4. What accommodation is available?

The Ashram offers:

  • Separate male and female dormitories with attached washrooms.
  • Rooms that can accommodate a family of three or four, or three individuals of the same gender (subject to availability and allocated upon arrival).

Meals are served in one large dining hall.

The Ashram has simple, basic infrastructure, so individual accommodation is not possible. All rooms are shared.

5. What should I bring?

The Ashram provides bedding, three vegetarian meals daily, and evening tea. We suggest bringing:

  • Towel and toiletries
  • Small flashlight
  • Earplugs (if needed)
  • Umbrella (monsoon season)
  • Hat (summer or if using the river route)
  • Warm clothing (Nov–Feb)
  • Comfortable Anti Skit slippers/shoes for walking
  • Personal medicine kit (the dispensary is well-stocked, but the nearest pharmacy is 20 km away)

You may bring your own sheet or pillow if you prefer. Please avoid washing clothes at the Ashram due to limited facilities and the large number of residents. Carry enough clothes for your stay.

Note: Couples are advised to pack separately as joint accommodation may not always be possible.
6. Are there any rules at the Ashram?

Yes. We request everyone to:

  • Maintain cleanliness in all Ashram facilities. Dormitories and rooms must be cleaned by the occupants themselves.
  • Be respectful towards fellow visitors and the environment.

The Ashram is meant to be a peaceful place where you can connect with nature and experience its bliss. Please see this link for detailed guidelines.

7. How is the weather?
  • April–September: Very hot during the day, pleasant in the evenings.
  • November–February: Quite cold, especially in the mornings and nights.
8. Are lockers available?

No, lockers are not provided. While we’ve never had issues with theft, we encourage you to bring only what is necessary. If carrying laptops or valuables, please keep them with you at all times. The Ashram is not responsible for lost items.

9. How can I make a donation?

Donations towards Ashram causes can be made online here.
